Individually prepared medicinal products containing medical cannabis (hereinafter “IPMP containing cannabis”) are prescribed by the physician according to Section 80 of Act No. 378/2007 Coll., on pharmaceuticals, and on amendments to some related acts, as amended, exclusively in the form of an electronic prescription.

An IPMP containing cannabis may be prescribed, prepared and dispensed only in accordance with Decree No. 221/2013 Coll., laying down the conditions for prescribing, preparation, dispensing and use of individually prepared medicinal products containing medical cannabis.

The pharmacist communicates with the CUER and registry in the manner provided for in Sections 13 through 17b of Decree No. 84/2008 Coll. on good pharmaceutical practice, detailed conditions for handling pharmaceuticals at pharmacies, healthcare facilities and other operators and facilities dispensing drugs, as amended.
